KINSHIP INFORMATION

Kinship Caregivers are grandparents, aunts / uncles, cousins, siblings, and close family friends raising children when parents are unable or unavailable to care for them.  According to the 2000 US Census, over 186,000 grandparents in Ohio were the primary caregivers for their grandchildren, many caring for sibling groups (statistical information from PCSAO website: www.pcsao.org).  Did a court award you custody of a child after July 2005?  If so, your family may be eligible for financial support.  Please contact the Screener at Wayne County Children Services at (330) 345-5340 for more information or to initiate the application process.  Also, please feel free to download the Application for Kinship Permanency Incentive (JFS 01501) to review for the application process.
