JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, create, implement, and assess
success of marketing programs aimed at increasing CSB market share of foster/
adoptive homes, consistent with and to accomplish the mission of the agency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, public
relations, or related area. Minimum of three years of relevant experience
preferred. Demonstrated dynamic public speaking skills; ability to
motivate. Ability to communicate effectively in written as well as oral
form. Ability to work a flexible schedule, working evenings and weekends
as needed. Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of department policies and
procedures*; safety practices and procedures; office practices and procedures.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions; maintain accurate records; deal
with problems involving few variables in familiar context; recognize unusual or
threatening conditions; maintain good working relationship with supervisors,
co-workers, clients, and the public; plan, schedule, and organize work, identify
and use existing community resources; perform clerical duties; excellent follow
through; ability to think outside the box and infuse enthusiasm into the
recruiting process. Must own, lease, or have immediate access to safe and
reliable (per State Highway Patrol standards) personal transportation to use for
work related responsibilities.

RECRUITMENT ACTIVITIES
 | Attend initial Pre-Service Foster / Adoption
Training |
 | Along with placement unit, assess specific types
of homes needed |
 | Design marketing strategies aimed at those
specific types |
 | Implement designed marketing plans staying within
prescribed budget and utilizing varied mediums: radio, TV,
billboards, public speaking engagements, envelope stuffers, etc. |
 | Assist in getting identified interested homes
licensed |
 | Assess levels of success according to prescribed
benchmarks |
 | Keep information shared by prospective homes
confidential according to ODJFS rules |
 | Write articles for area newspapers and magazines
on a continual basis regarding general information and human interest to
keep foster / adoptive recruitment in the news. |
